Ft. Sumter, South Carolina August 2, 2011
The first shot fired in the Civil War started in 1861 from Charleston, South Carolina at Ft. Sumter. I wanted to visit some of those sites on my way to a meeting in Washington D.C. I dedicated last year to learning about the Civil War. The problem was that I didn’t learn it all, and I developed a voracious appetite for the visiting East Coast.
