Manny the Sailor Bear

Manny the Sailor

February 22, 2013 by tchistorygal

In January Manny went to San Diego with the History Girls from all over California.  Rumor has it that he got himself into some kind of trouble at the San Salvador.  There were all kinds of displays there and the History Girls had a great time trying them out.  But something happened, and Manny found himself ar the end of his rope. Just to prove it really happened, here’s the photo – unaltered by human Photoshop. Oh no!!! What do […]

Sunday Post: On Going

February 12, 2013 by tchistorygal

I have an ongoing need to wait until someone else has posted their response to a challenge before I am ready to take the challenge.  Do I have an ongoing fear of being the first, or am I just blank on ideas.  You’ll never know – because I don’t!! We have an ongoing need to be concerned for the safety for those entrusted into our care. We have an ongoing need for vitamin D that comes from a little exposure […]

Homewood Suites by the Sacramento, California Airport – A Great Place to Stay

January 23, 2013 by tchistorygal

While we were in Sacramento, we discovered another nice hotel that was quite inexpensive.  Normally we stay at the Hampton Inn Suites near the airport in Sacramento when we go there for meetings.  However V and I were paying for this one, so we shopped around.  I went online and got a Hilton Honors card, and looked up Hilton hotels.  The total for two nights including all the taxes was $225, which started out at about $94 a night compared […]

San Francisco with Mary

January 13, 2013 by tchistorygal

I love to eat.   I am not a foody, but Mary is. I love nice clothes.  I am not a shopper, but Mary is. I love to travel.  I don’t know places well. But Mary knows all these things. It’s relaxing to travel with friends like Mary because they hold in their hands all the knowledge they need as they negotiate the world – their cell phone accessed by yelp.  They know facts about everything.  They check me in […]

No Internet By Choice

January 12, 2013 by tchistorygal

Good morning my wonderful blogging friends! Today I’m choosing to be stranded without Internet instead of paying $10 to make a post about Manny’s and my adventures under the sea. (And roaming around San Francisco with another History Girl, Mary.) Manny and I hope you will forgive us, and read about our escapades at the Ferry terminal and at Uniclo tomorrow. Will you come back??? Will you still be our friends …. Tomorrow. I feel like I could break out […]

Happy Ohio Star

January 11, 2013 by tchistorygal

A few months into retirement, my goals are slowly coming to fruition.  I started quilting with Carmen, my friend who retired last year, and wanted to bring My Ohio Star Quilt to completion.  That proved to be easier said than done. I proudly took my ready to go quilt to Barbara Graham, my wonderful quilter.  It was to be ready in a week.  In a little over a week, she called me telling me that there was a LITTLE problem, […]

History Girls Rule San Diego Part 1

January 7, 2013 by tchistorygal

Maybe rule is not quite the right word.  Roam might be better.  Manny decided to go along.  He had never been to San Diego. We were both ready to get out of the Tule Fog. By the time we got on the way up over the Grapevine, the fog was almost all gone, and blue skies prevailed. The weather in San Diego amazed me – no rain.  It rains EVERY time I go there.  Ok it rained today when we […]

Hi, I'm Marsha Lee. I am married, and a recently retired educator. Everyone needs to know that someone is interested in the things you do in life. I think that is what motivates me the most. I enjoy my life, and I want to share and teach others who get pleasure from those same things.
