History Girls Rule San Diego Part 1

January 7, 2013 by tchistorygal

Maybe rule is not quite the right word.  Roam might be better.  Manny decided to go along.  He had never been to San Diego. We were both ready to get out of the Tule Fog. By the time we got on the way up over the Grapevine, the fog was almost all gone, and blue skies prevailed. The weather in San Diego amazed me – no rain.  It rains EVERY time I go there.  Ok it rained today when we […]

Day Trip In Search of Snow

December 18, 2012 by tchistorygal

Thank you Ivon for adding star number 5 to my blog of 2012 award.  One more to go, and I’ve got them all.  Thanks to all of you who have helped me accumulate 13,500 views on my site. We got up Sunday morning to absolutely sparkly blue skies, and cool temperatures.  It was a perfect day for a trip to the mountains.  I wanted to see snow up close and personal.  In the summer here the weather changes very little, […]

Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections

December 1, 2012 by tchistorygal

As I reflect on my blogging experiment this first day of December, I realize that it has gone from experiment to addictive hobby.  I am thankful to all of you for taking the time to visit my streaming thoughts started in April, 2012.  While not breaking any records, this blog has attracted over 11,000 views, and 2,000 comments.  I was awfully lonely the first couple of months, but on November 29th the site reached a high of 196 views.  THANK […]

Bob Jones Trail

November 28, 2012 by tchistorygal

Across the street cars packed into the tiny parking lot down the street from Bob Jones Trail.  Children, bikes, old people, skaters, dogs, young parents with baby strollers all piled out of their cars and crossed the street.  A quick stop at the doggie bag stop and their exercise routine starts. This trail has much to offer.  It starts right down from Avila Barn on Ontario Road, stops at a little shopping area with a restaurant /quick market, real estate […]

The Needle (Not the Haystack)

November 6, 2012 by tchistorygal

Before I start this post I want to thank you all for coming to visit my site, reading all my posts, making wonderfully encouraging and engaging comments, and in general, addicting me to y’all.  This is my 200th post.  Today, I may go over 9,000 views.  Who knew when I started this adventure that even ONE person would want to read my thoughts.  I am so grateful. Secondly, I don’t want to get so caught up in my blogging that […]

The Streets of Ocean Canyon

August 19, 2012 by tchistorygal

Envy made me to look at house after house imagining how I would look living inside their luxurious walls.   RVs held the same fascination for me.  I would go to the RV shows and drool over the $200,000 diesel Class A homes on wheels.  No more.  Now it is just fascination with the differences that people choose.  A walk down the streets of OC is a lesson in all types, sizes and conditions of RV all commingled  congenially within […]

Dinosaur Caves Park

August 4, 2012 by tchistorygal

Hanging out in Shell Beach means a lot of walking along the cliffs to see the ocean.  (It’s called a “cliff hanger” town. JK)  Navigating in Shell Beach entails climbing up and down levels and levels of stairs to get to and from the beach.  You’ll stroll up and down nautical  streets like Leeward, Palisades, Santa Fe.  Along the main street off the freeway a myriad of small businesses beckon for your attention, amazing quaint places to coffee for breakfast, […]
